VALORANT is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Riot Games.

It is a 5v5 tactical shooter centered around unique agent characters, with the classic FPS "Bomb Defusal" mode as its core gameplay. Players assume the roles of tactical agents with diverse abilities and engage in combat using various types of firearms.

The game was first announced in October 2019 under the codename Project A and entered closed beta on April 7, 2020, initially available in Europe, Canada, the United States, Russia, and Turkey. On June 2, 2020, VALORANT launched its open beta. On June 19 of the same year, the game officially launched its servers in Taiwan, China, under the name 特战英豪.

On September 4, 2021, Tencent announced the introduction of VALORANT to mainland China. In December 2022, VALORANT was selected as an official event for the World Cyber Games (WCG) and, on December 28 of that year, passed the approval of imported online games by the National Press and Publication Administration of China.

On July 12, 2023, at 9:00 AM, VALORANT officially launched its servers in mainland China, published by Tencent and developed by Riot Games.

Since receiving a nomination for Best Esports Game at The Game Awards 2022 on December 9, 2022, up to December 13, 2024, the game has won multiple awards, including The Game Awards Best Esports Game, 2022 TGA Best Esports Game, and TGA 2023 Best Esports Game.
